The following framework and resources are designed to help you engage with one to one discipleship in CLC, whether you are looking to be discipled or want to offer discipleship to others. One to one is one of the five contexts for discipleship in City Life.

1. Ask for discipleship or offer it

By filling out an ask or offer form below, you can be linked up with someone else suitable in the church. Your tribe leader will contact you with a recommendation and you can choose whether to proceed.

2. Have an initial meeting

Arrange to meet once to:

a. Get to know one another
b. Talk about what exactly you want/can offer
c. Discuss a suitable frequency, time and place were you to meet regularly
d. Give each party the chance to opt in or out

After the initial meeting please submit an Initial Review form to say whether you are going to meet up further or not. If not, your tribe team may be able to recommend someone else.

3. Review regularly

Arrange to review together regularly how the discipleship arrangement is going. This is easily done with a Termly Review questionnaire. By submitting the form to your tribe team you can also keep them in the loop.

4. Use the resources below

The Guides will help you to keep the one to one arrangement healthy and effective. There are comprehensive guidelines for those who are offering discipleship and some principles for those who have asked to help them get the most out of it.

The thorough Personal Development Tool can be used to evaluate the disciple's growth. More than that, it helps the person offering discipleship to get to know him or her, with a long hard look at strengths and weaknesses, experience and attitudes.

There are also recommended books to form a basis or discussion starter for your times together, as well as key questions that have helped others to guide someone in following Jesus. Elsewhere a Bible reading plan might be something that you could work through together.
