The purpose of church
CLC has a real purpose, here and now, inspired by the church in Ephesus described in Acts 19. We see these as the purposes of any church:
- To preach the gospel to all nations (Matt 24:14)
- To shine with the glory of Jesus to be the incarnation of Jesus to the world
- To be a carrier of revival, reformation and restoration
- To bring in the final harvest
- To bring the believers to maturity, knowing their identity
- To speak prophetically to the nations and leaders
- To dominate principalities and powers in the spirit realm (Eph 6:12)
Three pursuits
- To be Passionate about Jesus (Mark 12:29-30, Matthew 4:23-24, Matthew 6:33)
- To be Preparing for Jesus (Ephesians 4:11-16, Philippians 2:12, Colossians 1:18)
- To be Publicising Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20, Matthew 24:14)
Our mission statement
Building a vibrant church in Cambridge to reconcile the city and its universities, creating a solid base from which to send out students to change the world
The mansion
We use the metaphor of a large house to illustrate the kind of life and community we want to impact. Each room has a different expression of life within it, with a focus on Europe & The Nations, Business, the universities and the local communities. All these rooms contribute to the overall life of CLC
.

Some of our objectives are to:
- be a vibrant and influential community of people that instigate spiritual and social change in the city
- see City Impact at every level: University, the town community, and the business sector
- aggressively plant cells and tribes into these sectors
- make radical disciples of Jesus: thousands coming to Christ and being nurtured, equipped and activated into their calling
- establish a prayer shield with other Christians over the city
- establish a 24-7 House of Prayer (Boiler Room)
- Sending and supporting kingdom people in missions and places of influence
- Training up and sending out church planters to establish new churches into Europe and Major Cities
- Own Central Property and community houses
- Establish a charitable wing of the church that meets the social needs of the city - setting up projects, supplying people resources and financial resources: our goal is to give millions!
