Magnetic Letters

I spent a disproportionate amount of time this afternoon delicately extracting the letter 'I' from our heater. Yes, I have got much better things to do with my time but the long and the short of it was that Leni NEEDED that letter and she needed it then and life without it meant nothing to this 18 month old. So down on my hands and knees I found myself. Fingers wouldnt do it, tweezers were too short, drumsticks were too fat...it was a fixed in heater so I couldnt pick the whole thing up and hiff it at the wall like I felt like doing. In the end I spent another ridiculous amount of time constructing a wire hook thing which eventually flicked the little green 'I'  out of its perch and onto the carpet in front of my distressed child. She looked at it once and then proceeded to wander off to find and eat the telephone.( Regular occurence, you should try it some time) So I sat, looking at this letter, wandering what relevance this moment had to anything and it isnt until now, when I think about what I wanted to encourage you all in this week, that I realise.

Our Father cares about our small stuff. His love for us is so great that what matters to us matters to Him depsite his omnipotent knowledge about life the universe and everything. I CARED about that letter. I missed an appointment for that stupid green piece of plastic! But I wouldnt have done anything else cos what matters to Leni matters to me.

Muso's, nothing is to wee to take to the big G. Not only does He have every answer before you've even started, not only does He already know about it, but He CARES about it and He LOVES that you turned to Him to talk about it to. We dont just go to God for answers in prayer, we pray to build our relationship with Him, to externalise our faith that He is with us all day every day ordering our lives. Carry this around with you this week lovelies. All the things that are happening in your lives are to be ' cast upon Him for He cares for you'. Chat to Him about the small stuff and the big stuff.

Or is the point that we spend too much time looking after the 'I' .... numero uno?
Jim Higginson06/04/2007 23:18
Y'know, there's no 'I' in 'Team.'

There is an 'I' in 'Win' though

As my sister-in-law pointed out to me many years ago, there's an 'I' in the middle of sin too.

But what a story of devotion. I think that's one of the lovely things about Leviticus - the minutae of the everyday lives of every individual was cared about and passed on through Moses by our wonderful loving Father. All those ordinary people written about in the Scriptures and passed down through the generations for ever. He knew/knows what we need and showed us how we could try to achieve it. He also knew that we couldn't go with such high standards and, as this weekend shows us, He sorted that too through the selfless devotion of Him and His Son.

It's Maria's story of devotion I mean - Leviticus is another thing her story made me think of.

Happy Easter everybody, BTW.
