Musicians Consultation

In late February 2004 there was a meeting of all the musicians in CLC who wanted to contribute to the musical offerings in corporate gatherings.

The start of the evening was left open to God to reveal his plans for our worship times (both musical, corporate and individual all day every day)

Here are some of the thoughts and words that were shared:

"Similar to Celtic monasteries – hallowing the ground before setting up monasteries.

Set us free to be filled with God’s joy!  Not looking down at ourselves, but up at God."

“My people go out dancing…..”

"Freedom of worship – all about him, not conscious of each other.  Break down what restrains us.  Individuality – expression, love for God in freedom."

"Musicians going before the army (Jericho) – not only joy but power."

"The worship we give to God should be excellent."

"Like in the 2nd Matrix – Zion scene, intimacy, togetherness, unity."

"God wants to blow the cube to bits!

Musicians coming out of their boxes.

LIBERATION.

New sounds/new rhythms/prophetic songs of God

GOD’S GLORY RELEASED AMONG US"

"Break the stigma of Christian music.

Music is not just for the church!

Breaking down the secular/sacred divide."

" ‘He must increase; I must decrease’

Essence of worship is giving our lives to God."

There was a lot of discussion and thoughts bouncing around.  Some of the ideas have already been brought into fruition and some are yet to be.

Up until June 2006, we have had various different bands leading the musical times at CLC. We are always open to new ideas and initiatives- in fact, if there's life in it , we're up for it!
