The worst day of the year.....???????!!!**********

Well according to the Guardian , today is officially the worst day of the year. Here I was thinking that I was just having a bad hair day ,but it seems all of us were feeling rotten and depressed because we were supposed to be, because someone did some research and all the stars collided and it spelt a very bad day for all planetary beings.  No seriously, someone did so some research. His formula was weather, debt, time since Christmas, time till next pay rounds,  low motivation and failure to keep new year resolution averages and he came up with January 22nd.  ' Wipe that smile off your face and remove that spring from your step!'
Thank God we can begin every new day with a fresh minty zing thanks to God and His mercy which is new every morning. Thank God we can come daily to Him and live in vitality and not be subject to grey skies or be tossed around by winds ( even gail force ones) . Life in God is one of solidity and constancy, not ups and downs as everything pales in the light of his presence. He is our anchor, even on January 22, the worst day of the year.
So my fellow musicians hang in there. Thanks for a great meeting last week- please- if you cant come let me know otherwise you are expected! We had a very cool time of quite intimate worship and also shared the new songs for the coming term.
I heard rumours flying that Daniel John was going to bake for the next one......
See you all soon

I was just happy to find out that the official "happiest day of the year" is June 23rd which is my sister's birthday!!! What fun!

So that's why my new computer broke and my son got conjunctivitis.

Amen to that, Maria! Yesterday when I arrived at my temp job I had to wait for over 2 hours whilst they tried to fix the entire computer network before I could do anything, then I was handed over a complete mess to try and figure out ... it was quite a bad day, but if it was the worst day in the year then that's not so bad!!!

and think of it this way emma, it was 2 hours you didnt have to stare blankly at a computer screen, i mean really , theyre so...well...white arent they. as for you and your computer mr smy i think it was god saying go be with your son. computers. so overrated. there'll be no computers anywhere near me on june 23- thanks for spreading the good news caroline. and the only unresponded to point of this thread..can daniel john bake?? i say raise the expectation of any man that cant help but love a challenge, and you'll find cookies in your mouth before you can say 'double chocolate chip'. i'd also like to say that i love that people are now reading the musicians page. i feel warmth.

Just navigated myself further round the website and stumbled across this uplifting page. Thank you for your wonderful words Maria - but how on earth do 'they' know that it's statistically the most depressing day of the year? I'd like to know how they research such a question - do they ask every person in the whole world to log on a scale of 1-10 everyday in a diary and see which day comes out worst, over a period of some years? If so they forgot to ask me - and to be quite honest I had a pretty good day that day I think. Hmmmmmmmmm.

They know because every 22nd of January, Kiwis come out of hiding, armed only with a big grin, slightly unusual vowels and an Exclamation-mark-machine gun, and proceed to tell everyone to cheer up...

Of course, I'm always breezily buoyant on the 22nd anyway, because the day after that I get lovely people to pamper me all day.
