church life

Stuff being pondered

Hi All
As September hits I move into this new role as Music Co-ordinator at CLC. Spooky in many ways, but I really think God's in it so am sure He will give me the ability to do the job! I thought it might be a good thing to start by telling y'all something about me and my family.
For those of you who dont know me, I am the one with big hair and a funny accent  who sings a bit. If not singing I am likely to have a small redheaded child on my hip or a gorgeous husband at my side.
I am a music teacher and Jon is doing a PhD in Engineering for Sustainable Development. Our daughter Leni is a full time Joy-Officer.
We are New Zealanders originally but  moved here a year ago after living for 4 years in Peru. We were working and helping in the local church over there, when Jon (the gorgeous one) had the opportunity to study at Cambridge, so here we are.
Cambridge and CLC have very quickly become home and we are excited about what God is doing in the church and in our city.
Over the past few months I have been meeting with my predecessor and allround good guy Mark Plane to learn the ropes and throw around ideas for the coming season. Mark has done such a brilliant job in the past it will be hard to get along without him. Thanks Mark!
The church is going through a time of real change and growth and we want to be ready and able to do whatever God calls us to.
I guess what I really want to say to you all is we are feeling our way with things and would welcome suggestions, ideas, inspirations, feedback...whether you are a full on musician or just a punter making observations on a Sunday morning. Doooooo talk to me- I welcome your input.
One of the first few things I want to get going is a Musicians List,(names/phone numbers etc..)  and a Song Bank with chords on line- so if you are playing at a gathering or just playing around, you can download chords and have the stuff in your own home.
We currently have 5 Lead Musicians who will be rotating over the space of a month. I meet with them regularly and I am sure they would join me in saying we would love your input and feedback.
Our philosophy at the mo (courteous of Mark Muse Plain) is ' if there is LIFE in it, we are up for it' !!
Its a privilege to be doing music stuff for God. Make yourself known to me if you feel the same and want to be doing something about it.
These are some of the things I am pondering at the mo.
