Andrew's African Adventures

Psalm 98 "O sing onto the Lord a new song; for he has done marvellous
things…"

I went to Africa knowing it would be a time of growth and significance. And
God, being God delivered over and abundantly more than I could have asked
for. It was not always easy, in fact in the middle section of the mission
was particularly tiring and draining. However, I return to Cambridge with a
stronger understanding of purpose character and faith.

Highlights of the experience included playing "Okey Ko-key", "British
Bulldog" and singing "Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord" with children from a
township called Tsiame. Presenting the Gospel message through dramas and
African dances in 30 degree heat, as well as to young people in the local
church. Stepping out in faith and hearing from God words of knowledge and
instruction for the young people was an like a new level in my walk. As
well as serving the local area practically by insulating shacks and huts
with newspaper, flour, water and fresh cow dung, an extremely liberating
experience which I will never forget.

God used the team I was a part of to support the local church, showing
God's love through practical helps and sharing the Gospel relevantly and
the people whole heartedly.

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored the mission to South Africa and if
after this article you feel led to sponsor the mission then please contact
me on ajj35@cam.ac.uk

God Bless
Andrew.
