Acts part 4: Saul to Paul
SAUL BLINDED
v 8 " Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything."
Saul heard God speak to him, and he knew that God had a plan (v6 "Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.") However, he was 'blind' both physically and spiritually. He couldn't see what lay ahead in Damascus he didn't know what God's plan was, only that He had a plan.
Saul trusted God and was obedient to Him.
OBEDIENCE TO GOD
Through the whole of Chapter 9 we read of obedience.
- Saul was blind and obeyed God
- The men with Saul obeyed God
- Ananias obeyed God. He was probably terrified of Saul yet he heard God and obeyed him.
- God blesses those who obey Him.
DISCUSSION AND PRAYER
- Is there a situation in your life where you feel spiritually blind? In times like these we need to lean on God and trust Him we have to let Him guide us along the path.
- Has God specifically told you or asked you to do something and you haven't been obedient in that? It could be talking to someone at work, giving money away etc. etc.
