Prayer for Kings Hedges and Cambridge

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray…!”
(Matt 9v37 NKJV)

After years of seeing a lot of indifference to the gospel here (as in UK generally) we’ve started seeing some new openness to come to churches here in Kings Hedges, some committing lives to Jesus, some investigating. Across the churches though, we’re really feeling a lack of workers to disciple them, that verse seems very true. It also feels like everything is quite intense up here - openness, salvations but also increased problems and battles in many ways.  People are making commitments but need a lot of ministry and encouragement to overcome really broken backgrounds and situations. But it’s SO glorious when they get that, and are transformed!  And we see once more how amazing our God really is!

Please would you pray for those who are involved in ‘harvesting’ in Kings Hedges, and for all the ‘harassed sheep without a shepherd’ here. Do consider if you can help too, but I believe the first and most important thing is to pray.
And especially to gather in prayer with other churches. There is such power in coming together in his name to cry out for the lost.

A couple of great opportunities to do this centre around the upcoming ‘Beyond Belief’ mission.
Beyond Belief’ is a week of mission, aiming to serve the local churches and extend their outreach, particularly among young people. Through Soul Survivor/YFC from October 23rd three teams of about twenty young people from across the country will be based in Kings Hedges. From Monday to Thursday there will be sports activities in the afternoons on Nuns Way Rec and at Manor School. In the evenings there will be youth cafes at Nuns Way Pavilion and at Arbury Road Baptist Church. On Thursday 27th October in the evening The Steels, a Christian rock band, will be performing at the Baptist Church. One of the teams will also be involved with messy church family activities every afternoon at Orchard Park School and a creative cafe in the evenings with a chance to explore faith and life.
We’re considering how much/ in what ways we want to/ can be involved in this, but at least let’s pray and bless those involved!
