You need never miss another morning message again - thanks to the new City Life Church podcast service...

What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is a new way of downloading an audio programs (such as a radio show) regularly. Each program is supplied as an mp3 which lives on your hard disk, and from there you can subsequently copy it to your portable player.  All you need to take part is some podcasting software and an internet connection.

For each program you want to hear regularly you get hold of their podcast url (there's a number of websites dedicted to providing a directory of some of the most popular) and subscribe using your podcast software.  Each time a new program is available you will automatically be notified so you can download the latest version onto your PC.  From there you can synchronise with your portable player and listen to Sunday's talk on the move!

One of the most popular programs for podcasts is iTunes.  You can subscribe to the CLC podcast in iTunes as follows:

  • Go to the Audio/Video page - available under the Home menu option
  • Click on the  button in the top-right corner of the list.  A new window will open up showing your personalised podcast feed.
  • Open up iTunes (you must have version 4.9 or later)
  • Drag the  button from the window showing your personalised podcast feed onto the Podcasts icon in iTunes.

The new podcast will be added to your subscriptions and the latest message will be downloaded.

Your friends can also subscribe to the "public" podcast by selecting subscribe to podcast from the Advanced menu in iTunes and using the following URL:

Awesome - I love modern technology.

Thanks so much for putting these on the web guys! It's so exciting to hear good Bible teaching (and the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe teaching too...) in English every week!! It's better than the guy shouting at you to be good in Swahili for 45 minutes that I normally get at church...

Oh, and I'm not bothered how long it is by the way - the longer the better!!!

I can't get Gabriel's talk to work. I'm practically tearing my hair out. Anything to be done?

Sorry Andrew (and anyone else with patches of baldness due to my failure to quality-control my upload). I checked the file before uploading, but admit I didn't check the download of it. But as Gav says, "I'm all over it".

Any news Kevin?
Kevin Cade22/05/2006 07:49
no, the Endis guys must be busy or they lost my support call. I'll ping them again.

Kevin

Andrew, I'll sponsor you a fiver to tear all your hair out.
Andrew Grenfell22/05/2006 16:05
But then you wouldn't be able to sponsor me to get a perm in Perm.
Annie Holmes22/05/2006 22:32
hey, think the perm through. I'm gonna have to hang out with you all the time for 3 weeks...
Kevin Cade23/05/2006 11:17
