Taaaaaa'amlets

Tower hamlets… the place where all your dreams come true… well almost! Anyway this is a well short article so read it all.

Ok so Tower Hamlets, you may have heard it all before:  the most deprived and poorest Borough/area in the country. It has the highest percentage of Muslims in the country and the highest youth population in the country (which means that there are more young people in Tower Hamlets than the whole city of Manchester!) However East London also has an exciting Christian heritage with people like Doctor Bernardo (Ragged school), Lord Booth (Salvation Army) and Lord Shaftsbury all living and ministering in the area.

Also in the past there had been a steady flow of Oxbridge Christian graduates to East London, who had come and served and lived in the area. My brother who graduated from Fitzwilliam College (Cambridge) in 2002 felt very much that God had put it on his heart to see this link re-established.

So far the last 2 summers my church, Tower Hamlets Community Church, has run big summer missions and we have had Cambridge students from CLC come and serve on the projects. This year we are running a similar project for 1 week (late July/Early August) and a youth club holiday for 1 week (13th-20th August). Last year we saw 5 young people come to know Jesus. It is always a very exciting time, and God always blows my mind and expectations with what he does.

The project will involve sports programmes (football, basketball), music
production programmes, dance workshops, gardening programmes, prayer
walking, youth club activities, chill out café, etc? Its gonna be amazing
and so if you have a spare day or 2 days or even a whole week that you want
to come and give and be part of a very exiting mission then send me an email

he wants you to be part of. Accommodation will be provided and it'll all be
free.
