In a Swiss Role

I am back from the sunny slopes of Switzerland and what a time we had there! Spent a lot of time with the youth, playing sport, running a cafe, street evangelism, drama... DJ, Ben, Mark and I formed the "British pop band" so don't expect to see me as we're going on our world tour! Climbed lots of mountains to pray (literally, not in the spiritual sense..!), had 2 churches in hysterics as we sang 'Lean on Me' extremely badly (but on purpose) in the service, baptised Ben and swam in the freezing cold lake, visited the most awesome waterfalls I have ever seen...

Here are the answers to prayer that I know you've all been waiting for...

1. For team relationships: we are not a team that would naturally form, however I do believe that God has got us together for a purpose and I think we're going to see some real friendships and amazing teamwork develop

God definitely worked in this. It was interesting not having worked together before but we all stuck in there and made sure we were open with each other and by the end of our time there God had really done his stuff.

2. For a good and safe journey. Also please pray that we all sleep well enough to give everything we've got when we get to Interlaken

We arrived 2 hours late not too bad! Had enough sleep despite being in the ferry at 2am.

3. For health. As always DNAers seem to manage to get run-down quickly (due to all the hard work we do!) so no colds please!

We were all fine apart from being very tired.

4. For high expectations of what God is going to do

We're all excited!

5. For a reliance and dependency upon God, as we are going to a place that we do not know and probably doing some crazy stuff while we're out there!

Found that at times we just had to stop and pray for things so there was definitely the above.

6. For new and significant friendships with the Swiss people, especially with the church there

This happened. Made some really good friends and had lots of laughs. There are two people coming to DNA in September.

7. For loads of fun, laughs, and friendship

I think the main thing we have all said about our trip was that we laughed lots.

8. For great weather - I want a tan!

Was boiling hot for the first few and the last few days and cooler in between. Had enough nice weather.

9. Swiss chocolate!

We have eaten so much Swiss chocolate I never want to see it again!

10. The youth (15-25) we will be working with

They were soooo amazing, and I know God used our team to encourage them.

11. The projects

Went well. Were a lot of fun.

Some other stuff: it wasn't all easy. We found the first week quite difficult but pressed on and gave it some prayer and God came through for us. Our time there was life-changing. We all made some significant personal decisions and persevered through the hard stuff. All of us have come back changed.

Thanks Lord...
...And thank you guys for praying.
